What sets our probiotic apart is also what it excludes. Unlike most probiotic supplements on the market, our formula deliberately excludes the acidophilus strain, which can be problematic for some individuals. Acidophilus is often used as a cheap filler strain to boost CFU count, giving the appearance of potency while using only small quantities of other, more expensive and beneficial strains. However, acidophilus can produce undesired effects in certain individuals, such as an increase in histamine levels. Those with pre-existing conditions like allergies, asthma, eczema, or gastrointestinal disorders may be more susceptible to this and could experience worsened symptoms when consuming products high in the acidophilus strain probiotic.
